The Distillery
Your story begins in 1823
In 1823, you found your own whisky distillery in Scotland, Ireland or Japan. Month by month, you decide how your business grows. You develop your own recipes and combine grains, water, yeast and, if you wish, peat. You choose different types of oak for your casks and determine their composition.
Your whisky then matures for years, developing a character of its own. Experienced master distillers help you assess its quality and flavour. You expand your production halls, warehouses and bottling facilities. You negotiate with banks, investors and trading partners to shape your distillery’s future.
You sell your whisky by the cask, by the bottle or as strictly limited special editions. Awards and expert reviews influence demand and reputation. Your family evolves too, and eventually you must decide who will take over. Can you turn a small distillery into a whisky business that lasts for generations?
